Framework Systems delivers this through Framework Interchange and Framework Advisor. Framework Systems is not a general-purpose demand planning, forecasting, warehouse management or supply-chain optimization suite.

A trading-partner transaction can be technically valid, accepted and processed, and still create a business or operational problem. That is why trading-partner transactions need to be connected to the business context that already exists in Microsoft Dynamics 365.

No. Framework Interchange focuses on electronic trading-partner integration. EDI is a major part of that capability, but Framework Interchange is not limited to traditional EDI. It sends, receives, translates, maps, validates and processes trading-partner transactions involving EDI, APIs and other supported methods of electronic business exchange, and it includes Interchange-specific Framework Advisor capabilities that bring AI assistance into the integration process.
No. Framework Interchange can transmit trading-partner transactions directly between your Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment and your trading partners. A VAN is only required when a trading partner requires it, in which case that VAN can be used as part of the required connection. Framework Systems does not require customers to route transactions through a proprietary Framework Systems VAN or hosted transaction network.
Framework Systems goes beyond EDI. Framework Interchange provides the trading-partner integration foundation, and Framework Advisor brings AI-assisted capabilities to the customer's broader supply chain.
Framework Interchange is the trading-partner integration product: it connects the external supply chain to Microsoft Dynamics 365. Framework Advisor is the AI-assisted product for the customer's supply chain, working with the supply-chain information and processes inside Microsoft Dynamics 365. Framework Interchange includes Interchange-specific Framework Advisor capabilities. It does not include every Framework Advisor capability.
Trading-partner configurations, mappings and your accumulated integration work remain within your Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment, rather than depending on a proprietary external Framework Systems transaction-processing platform. Some proprietary Framework Systems source code is encrypted to protect Framework Systems intellectual property. Other portions remain available for appropriate extension.
